I thought split shifts while working in North Vancouver were kinda sucky...then I moved back to Regina. Had my first split shift at the new restaurant today. For those of you who have never been to Regina, well, there's NOTHING TO DO EVER. I take back all the times I whined about working doubles and taking a break and "having nothing to do," like looking out at the ocean or the mountains or sitting in a beautifully serene park or walking around a market.
Today on my couple hour break I ran one errand to keep myself busy and came home and played the piano for a while. On top of the piano sit a few pictures. I took a photo of this photo because it makes me giggle how cute we are. That's my gramps there. And I think Matt's got to be 3, Ali's 5, and I'm 7 (I'll double check with Mom later) ((Edit: double checked with Mom - Matt is 2, Ali 4, me 6)). But for some odd reason I have such a vivid memory of this EXACT moment. Even what shoes I'm wearing! I like it.
[Quick side note: The reason I post this photo (of a photo) is because at the end of the day I thought to myself, "Oh NO I haven't taken a photo today." (Which is my worst fear ever, by the way) So I scrolled back through my phone and discovered that I actually had taken this while piano-ing today...PHEW! And what a gem.]
